(Scutellaria incana): (5 pt) 2-3’ bushy open-vase clump. 3-6” spikes of many small showy deep-blue-violet flowers, each with flared lower lip, and hooded upper lip. July to Sept., 4-6 weeks. 3” gray-green leaves; unusual saucer-like seedpods. Moist/dry, likes moist rich soil, adaptable; can form tight colonies. Borders, meadows, along paths. Native NY south. Bees, Butterflies.
