Solidago flexicaulis

Soil:  Fertile Loam, Well-drained
Moisture:  Moist to Dry
Light:  Part Sun to Shade (prefers dappled shade)
Plant Height:  1 to 3  feet
Plant Width:  1 to 3 feet
Pests: None
Landscape Value:  Great for shady woodland gardens, perennial borders, roadsides, and water-wise landscapes.  Good for massing in naturalized areas.  Useful for erosion control.

A compact pollinator powerhouse with upright stems that zig-zag from leaf to leaf.  Elongated clusters of bright yellow, daisy-like flowers occur at the stem tips and bloom late summer to fall.  Smaller clusters occur lower on the stem in leaf axils.  Semi-evergreen basal leaves can form a dense ground cover and provide erosion control.  Spreads by wind-blown seeds and can form colonies from rhizomes (shallow underground stems).  Deadhead to prevent abundant self-seeding.  Tolerates drought, clay soil, lime and black walnut.  Attracts bees, butterflies, pollinating flies, predatory wasps, seed-eating birds and small mammals.  Makes a good cut flower.

Landscape plugs, 2″ wide by 5″ deep, sold in quantities of 5 or 10
