Landscape Value: Great for shady borders and woodland gardens, and for massing along streams and ponds in shade or filtered sun. Makes a great companion for spring ephemerals closing gaps they leave in woodland gardens.
Soft, deciduous, colony-forming fern with yellow-green fronds (leaves) that taper strongly at both ends. Fronds are fine textured and arise singly or in clusters from black-brown, trailing underground stems. Spreads rapidly and can form dense colonies. Tolerates dry soils, but will spread less.
