Soft, deciduous, colony-forming fern with yellow-green fronds (leaves) that taper strongly at both ends.  Fronds are fine textured and arise singly or in clusters from black-brown, trailing underground stems.  Spreads rapidly and can form dense colonies.  Tolerates dry soils, but will spread less.
