The CT State Flower in dwarf form!  Compact evergreen shrub with dark green glossy leaves, and reddish stems.  Clusters of showy flowers bloom May to June.  Flower buds are strong pink/red and open to soft pink.  Color intensity varies from year to year and in different exposures.  Prefers moist sites.  Avoid windswept sites.  All parts of the plant are toxic if ingested.  Attracts butterflies and other pollinators.
