A late-season pollinator powerhouse! Clump-forming perennial with downy stems and glossy, dark green leaves that smell like anise when bruised. Leaves may be used in teas. Pyramidal plume-like clusters of yellow daisy-like flowers bloom August through September. Tolerates poor, dry, sandy or gravelly soil, drought, and black walnut. Attracts butterflies, honey and native bees, pollen-eating beetles, and predatory insects that prey on insect pests.
