A late-season pollinator powerhouse, especially for bees. Erect, clumping perennial with rigid, winged stems that branch near the top. Numerous showy heads of yellow, daisy-like flowers bloom late summer to fall, sometimes to the first frost. Avoid fertilization as it can lead to weaker stems. Cut back plants in early June to reduce plant height and encourage branching, leading to more blooms and less need for support. Deadhead to encourage flowering. Divide clumps every 3 to 4 years to maintain vigor. Susceptible to powdery mildew and leaf spot. Tolerates wet soil, clay soil, and short periods of drought. Intolerant of dry soil. Attracts butterflies, native bees, wasps, and flies.
Landscape plugs, 2″ wide by 5″ deep, sold in quantities of 5 or 10
