CT River Coastal Conservation District 2022 Native Plant and Plug Sale
Thank you for supporting our 2021 sale, which was a big success. We are busy getting ready to launch our 2022 sale. Please check back for information about when ordering will begin, or subscribe to our email list on our homepage at https://www.conservect.org/ctrivercoastal/ and you will receive an announcement! Pick-up for our 2022 CT native plant and plug sale is at the Chester Fairgrounds, April 29-30, 2022 (see tentative times below), Kirtland Terrace, Chester. If we receive a large number of orders as we did last year, we may be extending pick-up to Sunday, May 1.
All plants must be ordered in advance; there will not be any extras available at the Fairgrounds. Order pick-up will likely be scheduled in advance as in 2021. Tentative pick-up times are Friday, April 29, 9:30 am – 6:00 pm, and Saturday, April 30, 9:30 am – 5:00 pm. Sign-up information for pick-up time slots will be provided after orders are placed. This year’s sale features a wide variety of shrubs, ground covers, edibles, evergreen trees, flowering perennials, ferns, grasses and sedges. Evergreen trees are being sold as plugs instead of bare root seedlings; plugs don’t have to be planted immediately, have less transplant shock, and have a greater survival rate. We are also offering a selection of flowering perennial landscape plugs, which can be purchased here. These are a low cost and easy way to plant a landscape. As in the past, our plant selections feature a variety of pollinator plants, edible landscaping plants, wet-loving plants for rain gardens, and plants suitable for waterside buffer gardens.
Thank you for supporting our annual plant sale, which is our main fundraising event. All proceeds are used for conservation, environmental education, and technical assistance programs.
Have fun shopping, and we look forward to seeing you at the sale!
The following codes are used in the plant descriptions: E – Edible CT – Connecticut native plant DR – Deer resistant P – Pollinator plant RG – Good choice for a Rain Garden
