Give A Bark! Resources

Health and environmental risks of pet waste                                                     Chatfield Hollow State Park pet waste project

Cleaning up your pet’s waste is both good for you and your local environment! Bacteria, parasites and viruses can be found in your dog’s waste and, if left on the sidewalk or even in the woods, can be washed in to your local waterway, affecting water quality and human health.

To help increase awareness about pet waste as a source of pollution, along with things that pet owners can do to prevent pollution from pet waste, the District developed outreach materials for use both in the park and at pet related area businesses like veterinarian offices. They include:
     Pet waste postcard
     Pet waste poster
     Pet waste station map
