Northwest ConnVERT

The Energy Resource Program of the Northwest Conservation District (NCD)

The Northwest Conservation District began five decades ago as the Litchfield County Soil and Water Conservation District.  Since then the organization has adapted to the changing needs of the towns in our area by expanding its geographical area and by offering assistance in the management of natural resources beyond just soil and water. To continue this growth, we offer a program to address our towns' needs in the management of our renewable energy resources. The program can include technical services and education on topics such photovoltaics (PV), solar thermal, wind energy, low impact microhydro, geothermal, biofuels, biomass,  methane capture and fuel cells using hydrogen from a renewable resource.
